Bhopal, December 26, 2014 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Provisions of compassionate appointment policy-2013 for power companies in Madhya Pradesh have been amended. According to the amendment, cases of death due to accident prior to April 10, 2012 and after November 2000 have also been included in compassionate appointment policy. Preference in appointment under compassionate policy will be given to cases of deaths due to accident over normal death. In case of unnatural death while working in Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board/Company, electricity accident, murder by assailants and death due to vehicle accident during work have also been included in the policy. With construction of trauma unit, serious diseases will be treated at Chhindwara hospital. The 10-bed trauma unit has been constructed at a cost of about Rs. 3 crore 58 lakh. Of the ten beds, 5 each are for males and females, respectively. Pilot project implemented in two districts

Bhopal, May 23, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Madhya Pradesh will become the first state to use silo bags for storing wheat. With this, Madhya Pradesh, which now stands second in wheat procurement after Punjab, will also be able to find partial solution of shortage of gunny bags for storing procured wheat. As a pilot project, silo bags have been used in two districts of the state namely Raisen and Vidisha. It may be mentioned that silo bags are mostly used in South America. Each silo bag has the capacity of storing 2000 quintal. This year, silo bags will be used to store about 50 thousand metric tonnes of wheat on experimental basis. Read more

In year 2004, the annual milk production was 5388 M. ton. In year 2012 it increased to 8149 M. ton. In the past eight year the growth rate of milk production is 5.13 percent annually, which is noteworthy. During the year 2001-2004, the annual growth rate was about 4.2 percent. Land earmarked for Haj House at Indore

Bhopal, October 21, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): The State Government has accorded administrative sanction worth Rs. 6 crore 11 lakh 25 thousand for construction of Haj House at Bhopal. Capital Project Administration (CPA) has been appointed the construction agency for Haj House. Haj House at Bhopal will be constructed on 1.50 acre land at village Singarcholi on the Airport Road. First installment of Rs. 1 crore out of the sanctioned funds for Haj House has been released. Design has also been finalised after following selection of architect. Decision to increase prescribed amount

Bhopal, October 29, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): A decision has been taken to increase the amount fixed for making available free of cost books and stationery to SC, ST students of the state’s government colleges. Higher Education Minister Mr Laxmikant Sharma has approved the proposal for increasing per student amount to Rs. 1500. Orders to confiscate about Rs 7 crore assets

Bhopal, November 2, 2012 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Under Madhya Pradesh Special Courts Act-2011 enacted by Madhya Pradesh government to end corruption, a special court ordered to confiscate assets of corrupt public servant worth about Rs. 7 crore today. The order was passed by Special Sessions Judge Mr Avneendra Singh’s court at Indore. This is the first decision under the Act to confiscate assets. Collectors directed on procedure

Bhopal, November 3, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): The State Government has directed that process of auction of mines of minor minerals should be completed by January 2013. In the directives issued by the State Government to district collectors, they have been directed to follow the procedure laid down by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) in the auctions to be conducted during the next financial year 2013-14. Adequate arrangements made in district for procurement

These centres have been selected on the basis of experience of procurement in previous years in paddy-growing districts. District collectors’ consent was also taken before opening these centres. Bhopal, November 12, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Madhya Pradesh government has made concrete food security arrangements for 71 lakh BPL and extremely poor families in the state. In the state, 55 lakh 69 thousand 638 BPL families are being provided wheat and rice at concessional rates through ration cards. Food grains are being provided at extremely low rates to 15 lakh 81 thousand 565 families under Antyodaya Ann Yojna (AAY) implemented in the state for extremely poor people. Through effective management and ensuring better networks, the power distribution companies of Madhya Pradesh has set a new record of supply of 9412 MW power in the night of November 11. Maximum peak hour demand of 9412 MW power was met at 7.30 pm on November 11. It is noteworthy that 7422 MW power was supplied during peak hours on Dhanteras in year 2011. Record of 9089 MW power supply set in state on Deepawali night

In the 57 years old history of Madhya Pradesh, a new record of supply of 9089 MW power was set on the occasion Deepawali on November 13. Hindrance in work due to delay in sanction

Bhopal, November 30, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Besides funds sanctioned from the Union Government, the State Government has spent Rs. 120 from State Head on maintenance and repair of National Highways in Madhya Pradesh. A number of works are withheld since sanction is pending with the Union Government. It is noteworthy that length of National Highways in the state is 4,709 kilometres. On December 16, 2009, the Union Government took away maintenance and reconstruction work of National Highways measuring 3,828 kilometres from National Highway Wing of Public Works Department and handed it over to National Highway Authority of India. Mr Singh sanctions Rs. 5.63 crore

Eight new trains’ schedule announced

Bhopal, December 1, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Under Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna, train to Jagannath Puri will leave from Habibganj railway station of Bhopal on December 1. It will carry 979 pilgrims from Raisen, Bhopal, Vidisha and Sagar districts. With this, the State Government has announced schedule for eight new trains under the scheme. Earlier, schedule of 28 trains was announced.  Till November 29, about 20 thousand senior citizens have accomplished pilgrimage through 20 trains under Teerth-Darshan Yojna. Athletics finals to be played today

Bhopal, December 2, 2012 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): The 38th State-Level PICA Women’s Sports Competitions got underway at TT Nagar Stadium here today. Under the competitions, 400 and 800 metre races were held. Preliminary marches of athletics, badminton and table-tennis matches were also played in the third group of the competitions. In table-tennis matches, Ujjain beat Rewa 3-0, Jabalpur beat Bhopal 3-0 and Gwalior defeated Sagar 3-0 to enter semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Indore defeated Gwalior 3-0 and Ujjain beat Jabalpur 3-1 to enter finals. In the finals, Indore beat Ujjain 3-2 to win the competition. Read more

Bhopal, December 6, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Madhya Pradesh Water Corporation constituted under the Public Health Engineering Department is implementing two drinking water schemes based on surface water schemes in Sehore and Raisen districts. As many as 242 villages will get benefit of these schemes in Bhopal circle. Drinking water will be available to 164 villages from Mardanpur project in Sehore and 78 villages from Udaipura project Raisen district. Both the projects are being constructed on Narmada river.

Bhopal, December 13, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): The government employees whose names have been included in voter lists for elections of Krishi Upaj Mandi Committees will be sanctioned special casual leave for exercising their franchise. The General Administration Department has issued orders to this effect. Elections of Krishi Upaj Mandi Committees are scheduled on December 20, 2012. An employee registered as voter for these elections will have to produce related proofs before head of the department for availing special casual leave. He or she will be sanctioned special causal leave on the day of polling only after satisfaction of the office in-charge.

Madhya Pradesh has largest forest cover among states

Productivity to increase upto twofold

Beneficiaries can lift lump sum quota for three months from January

Bhopal, December 23, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan): Madhya Pradesh has received APL, BPL and AAY (wheat and rice) quota for January to March, 2013. It concludes 83 thousand 670 metric tonnes of food grains for APL, 89 thousand 18 metric tonnes for BPL and 55 thousand 355 metric tonnes of food grains for AAY scheme. The State Government has issued directives regarding allocated food grains to all the district collectors. Accused under section 306 held in Chhatarpur

Defaulter irrigation pump consumers urged to avail benefit

Bhopal, January 1, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): In view of good response to Kisan Mitra Yojna, Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company has extended it till March 31, 2013. Earlier, the scheme was scheduled to end on December 31, 2012. The company has introduced this scheme in 16 districts of the state under its jurisdiction for waving surcharge on electricity bill dues. The company has urged farmers to avail benefit of this scheme. Second prompt action after Dhar

Bhopal, January 3, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): Taking prompt action, the police have presented challan in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate against two accused of a rape case in just 11 days. The two have been charged with rape of a minor girl at village Ranital in Sihora tahsil of Jabalpur district. Recently in a rape case in Dhar district, prosecution officers of the police had achieved success in getting accused in a rape case sentenced to death by a court in just 35 days.  In the Jabalpur case, the victim had lodged an FIR on December 19 at Gosalpur police station that Khillu Kumhar and Kandhiram had raped her. Capacity to be increased by 7012 MW till next year end

At present, power generation capacity has increased to 9453 MW including 2940 MW of Central undertakings. A target has been set to increase power generation capacity by about 7012 MW till the end of financial year 2014-15. Bhopal, January 4, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): The State Government has issued fresh directives to all the District Collectors and Women & Child Development Officers regarding constant monitoring and regular supervision of Integrated Child Development Scheme projects. Responsibility of supervision has been entrusted include Divisional Joint Directors, District Programme Officers and Child Development Officers as well as Supervisors. The Divisional Joint Directors of the Women & Child Development Department have been asked to tour districts for minimum eights days a month. Read more

Appeal to donate funds liberally to armed forces flag fund

Bhopal, January 4, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): Mrs Nirmala Sharma has donated Rs. 50 thousand to Armed Forces Flag Fund. It is noteworthy that Mrs Nirmala Sharma, mother of martyr Captain Devashish Sharma, prepared clay articles and sold them at an exhibition on his martyrdom anniversary. The amount earned by her from sale of these articles was donated by Mrs Sharma to Flag Fund. Bhopal District Ex-servicemen’s Welfare Officer Mr D.C. Goyal informed that donations for Flag Fund are collected every year. This amount is spent on the welfare of army personnel and their families. The District Ex-servicemen’s Welfare Board has appealed to common people to donate liberally to the fund. Donation amount is exempted from tax.

E-governance managers and assistant managers posted

Bhopal, January 5, 2013 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): In Madhya Pradesh, information technology has now been extended upto development block level. For this, e-governance managers have been posted in all 50 districts of the state. Besides this, 320 new assistant e-governance managers have also been recruited of which 80 percent have been posted. Posts of 50 data entry operator have also been filled up. Now, the e-governance related works can be done more efficiently since the youths appointed on these posts hold degrees of MCA, BE (IET), BE (Computer Science) etc and are technologically very sound. New technical education and skill development policy implemented

Bhopal, January 5, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): During the year 2012, admission capacity in ITI s was increased to 54 thousand 540 and one lakh one thousand in short-term training courses. This is 67 percent and 365 percent more than that of last year, respectively. A target has been set in the technical education and skill development policy framed this year to develop the state as a hub of technical education and skill development. For this, minimum 6 courses were introduced in selected institutions. It was also decided to open industry-institution cells and entrepreneurship development centres in these institutions. Read more

Higher Education Minister issues directive

Bhopal, January 5, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): Higher Education Minister Mr Laxmikant Sharma has directed to conduct high-level investigation into Barkatullah University incident. A three-member committee has been constituted for investigation. The committee comprises Institute for Excellence in Higher Education Director Dr. Pramila Maini, Government Nutan Girls College Principal Dr. Shobhna Vajpayee Maroo and Government MLB College, Bhopal’s Principal Dr. Manjula Sharma. Book focusing on tribal Godna tradition published

Bhopal, January 6, 2013 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Madhya Pradesh boasts of history of rich tribal culture. The state is inhabited by 43 scheduled tribe clans. Every tribe has its own dialect. The Tribal Research and Development Institute (TRI) is making constant efforts for preservation of these dialects. For this, services of lexicographers of tribal dialects are being availed. The TRI has published dictionaries of tribal dialects Bhili, Gondi and Korku. The process of making changes in these dictionaries is also underway constantly. The TRI has prepared a dictionary of Bhilali dialect containing 5,500 words. Read more

Accused must be debarred from govt facilities

Bhopal, January 6, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): The Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan has recommended death sentence in case of rape on women. He has also given important suggestions for protection of rights of rape victims. Mr Chouhan has sent a set of recommendations to Justice J.S. Verma Committee for making stringent legal provisions and amending existing ones to prevent violence against women. Referring to specific circumstances in which rape is committed, the chief minister said that death sentence must be given in cases in which rape victim is killed after rape incidence, or is made incapable of living natural and normal life or she gets infected by HIV/STD or commits suicide within one year of incidence  and dies due to rape. It is third railway over-bridge in Bhopal

Bhopal, January 7, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): The Public Works Department has completed construction of Kainchi Chhola railway over-bridge. Administrative sanction worth Rs. 22 crore 39 lakh 60 thousand was given for this over-bridge in November 2005. Technical sanction worth Rs. 16 crore 56 lakh 55 thousand was given in January 2006. Revised administrative sanctions worth Rs. 36 crore 12 lakh and Rs. 45 crore 11 lakh 43 thousand were given in February, 2008 and March 2012, respectively. Read more

Bhopal, January 7, 2013 (Ataullah Faizan): As many as 11 new colleges were opened in Madhya Pradesh during the year 2012 with a view to extending higher education to rural and remote areas of the state. The same year, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya was established for imparting education in Hindi medium to students of rural background.
