Urban administration minister visits city
Bhopal, May 6, 2011 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Urban Administration and Development Minister Mr. Babulal Gaur has instructed the officials that roadside vending should not be allowed in the city. Roads are for passersby and not for vending. He gave a free rein to the district administration and police to chase road side vendors and asked them to ensure the road free from encroachers. Mr. Gaur gave these instructions to the district collector Mr. Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Adarsh Katiyar during inspection of Chowk Baazar after removal of encroachments from there. Urban Administration Minister Mr. Gaur reached this hustle-bustle market in the morning today. The Minister took the stock of anti-encroachment drive at the busiest areas like Loha Baazar, Ibrahimpura and Chowk Baazar.
He also visited Chhar Batti Chouraha and instructed the officials to demolish illegal portion built around Pump House of Municipal Corporation and widen the road. Mr. Gaur reached chicken market and Itwara from where encroachments were removed. The affected people demanded the Minister for their alternative arrangements so as to continue their livelihood. Mr. Gaur replied that the grievances would be heard after ensuring facilities to the common man. The Minister moved to Karond Chouraha.
He took the stock of anti-encroachment drive here. Local corporator Mr. Brijmohan Pachauri requested Mr. Gaur for immediate construction of road after dislodging encroachment so that there should not be any room for encroachment in future. Mr. Pachauri said that he would support the administration for the work of development of the city. Mr. Gaur instructed the Superintending Engineer Public Works Department Mr. Akhilesh Upadhayaya to develop drainage system along the roads. The Minister said that the land Mafiosi should be dealt with strictly. During the visit, Collector, S.S.P., Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Public Works Department’s senior Officials, City Engineers of Municipal Corporation were accompanying the Minister.
