Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan attends Mahila Sammelan
Bhopal, November 8, 2011 (Muslim Saleem): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that he will continue to make efforts for honour and pride of Meena Samaj. He will also apprise the Union Government of the community’s demands. Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said this at first state-level women’s convention of Meena Samaj at local Gandhi Bhawan today. The convention was organised Madhya Pradesh Meena Samaj Sewa Sangathan. Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that discrimination in son’s birth is a major problem. This problem is not confined to any particular community, state or country. The problem emanates from the mindset of considering daughter a burden. He said that daughters are not a burden in the state. They are Ladli Laxmis. The government has launched schemes for cooperating in daughter’s welfare right from her birth upto education, training and marriage.
Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that saving daughter is must for world’s survival. Daughter is an emblem of mother’s love, affection and mercy. Her every breath is for her parents. He said that daughter-in-law come from if there is no daughter. He said that daughters are deities in Indian culture. We worship Devis for wealth, power and wisdom. Therefore, killings daughters in womb is a great sin. He said that he has taken a pledge to save and promote daughters till his last breath. He congratulated for organisation of women’s convention.
Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan released Meena Samaj’s souvenir and launched its newly developed website on which information about the community as well as Beti Bachao Abhiyan has been posted. The welcome address was delivered by Meena Samaj’s state president Mr. Omprakash Chanda. Samaj’s former president Mr. Meherban Singh Rawat also addressed the function.
