Bhopal, January 5, 2012 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Online veterinary treatment facilities will soon be started in Madhya Pradesh. This project has been prepared for making veterinary services available in remote rural areas to farmers at their houses through online consultancy. This information was given by Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. Ajay Vishnoi here today. Mr. Vishnoi informed that this year will be marked by several important activities in the animal husbandry sector. The online veterinary treatment (E-vet) will be made available to cattle-rearers at their houses through Para-vet. Besides, a cow sanctuary will be established at Susner in Shajapur district for conservation of cow progeny. The action plan for the cow sanctuary has also been chalked out by the department. Mr. Ajay Vishnoi informed that the storage capacity of ice-chilled semen at Bhadbhada-based Central Semen Bank will be increased to 25 lakh dozes. At present, 12 lakh dozes of iced semen are being produced at this centre.
He informed that a Rs. 15 crore scheme has also been chalked out for embryo technique. Embryos of advance progeny will be developed in the first phase of the project. According to Mr. Vishnoi, efforts are also afoot for appropriating the posts of Assistant Veterinary Area Officer, statistics and account staff of the department. Following sanction to the new set-up, process is being undertaken for the creation of new posts of 498 Assistant Veterinary Surgeons, 612 Assistant Veterinary Regional Officers and 612 Class-IV employees.
