Barren land in Rewa covered with lush greenery

 PR Minister undertakes plantation on tribal area hillock

shukl15.8Bhopal, August 15, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):   Energy, New & Renewable Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla has said that trees swaying on hillocks and barren land in Rewa district are adornments of Earth. In coming times, the district will have more lush greenery with plantation of one crore 64 lakh saplings in 80 km long green belt. Mr. Shukla was addressing a function on the occasion of plantation on tribal area hillock Arjun Kahua in Rewa district today. Mr. Shukla said that plantation will be done regularly that will prove to be a milestone in covering the barren area with lush greenery. He urged villagers to discharge responsibility to protect forests so that they get fresh air and water level increases. Mr. Shukla directed to chalk out plantation programme in Bahuti area and ensure plantation on vacant land. Mr. Shukla said that green belt is being developed in view of less forest cover in Rewa district. He said that in the beginning of the scheme, 37.25 lakh saplings have been planted. In remaining vacant area, saplings of bamboo, teak and trees for forest produces useful for forest dwellers and villagers will be planted. In coming years, over one crore 64 lakh saplings will be planted on 9464 hectares.

MP Mr. Janardan Mishra lauded the scheme. Mr. Mishra urged common people to plant saplings on vacant land and also safeguard them. At the outset, the Minister performed Poojan of the forest land and planted a sapling. Mr. Shukla and others inspected the saplings planted last year at village Sarai. He expressed happiness that plants there are growing fast due to efforts of Forest Department. In coming time, natural scheme of waterfall there would be centre of tourists’ attraction. The area will be developed as a tourist centre so that tourists visiting Mukundpur safari and other places can also enjoy beauty of this place.
