CM inaugurates piped supply of natural gas at Gwalior
Bhopal, September 7, 2015 (Muslim Saleem): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Gwalior will be developed as most beautiful city in the country in 5 years. It is a matter of happiness that Gwalior has been included in Smart City Scheme. By next month, a roadmap will be chalked out through mutual coordination between public representatives, subject experts, private agencies and officers so that Gwalior lives upto norms of Smart City. The Chief Minster was dedicating piped supply of natural gas at Gwalior today. He also inaugurated CNG Station. The Chief Minister said that piped gas supply has added a new chapter in development. This will prove to be boon for women.
He said that women will not have to wait for gas cylinder. Mr. Chouhan asked officers of piped gas supply agency Avantika Gas Limited to expedite work. He expressed the wish to supply piped gas to industries also in future. Union Steel and Mines Minister Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said that Central government aims to supply piped water to crores of houses in the country. The cylinders saved due to it will be supplied to remote areas. He expressed happiness that piped gas supply has started at Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior. The Union Minister said that on Prime Minister’s call, 20 lakh persons in the country have foregone gas subsidy, which will be used to supply domestic gas to economically weaker sections. Women tied Raksha Sutras to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Mr. Chouhan said that there would be no let-up in efforts for women’s empowerment. He said that 20 lakh girls have become Ladli Laxmis in the state so far. Avantika Gas Limited is doing work of piped supply of natural gas at Gwalior in collaboration with Gas Authority of India Limited and Bharat Petroleum. About 86 km long pipeline has been laid so far in the city at a cost of Rs. 10 crore. In the first phase, connections have been given to 200 houses. In next 5 years, the company will give connections to about 70 thousand domestic consumers.
