Finance Minister Mr. Malaiya inaugurates
Bhopal, September 25, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Finance Minister Mr. Jayant Malaiya inaugurated pilot project of integrated financial management information system here today. The Minister said that it will give better facilities to employees and pensioners and improve efficiency in departments. Labour, time and money will also be saved. The function was presided over by State Planning Commission’s Vice Chairman Mr. Babulal Jain. Mr. Malaiya said that following computerization in year 2003, distribution of salaries began online and now all payments are being made online.
Before computerization, funds were misused due to maximum drawals and expenditures during March. To remove this lacuna, system of quarterly budget was introduced which yielded encouraging results. Now, funds more than administrative sanction cannot be spent. He said that beginning of pilot project of integrated financial management information system will be made with work of annual planning and budget and soon work of human resources management system and pension management scheme will also be started. Mr. Babulal Jain said that new dimension of development are getting under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan making Madhya Pradesh pioneer in the country.
The system launched today is next in the series. ACS Finance Mr. Ajaynath dwelt in detail on increase in efficiency of Finance Department following computerization. He said that as a result of the new system, entire budget process will be online this year. No files or paper work will be involved. This will save paper as well as time. Commissioner Treasury and Accounts Mr. Ashish Upadhyay informed that the system launched today includes fiscal management, human resources management and pension management. The three components will start functioning by December.
