Higher education minister at general council meeting
Bhopal, September 27, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta has directed that Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya should be developed on global level. Mr. Gupta was addressing general council meeting of the Vishwavidyalaya here today. He said that the Vishwavidyalaya should produce outstanding Hindi writers and speakers. Mr. Gupta said that a committee should be constituted for necessary amendments in the Vishwavidyalaya’s Act. On the suggestion of members, he said that as far as possible Hindi words should be used in the Vishwavidyalaya’s literature.
Mr. Gupta said that council’s members can present necessary suggestions any time without waiting for meeting. He said that it is also responsibility of the Vishwavidyalaya to remove shortage of global level Hindi experts. The meeting approved proposal to set up study centres of the Vishwavidyalaya in different cities. Vice Chancellor Mr. Mohanlal Chheepa informed that the Vishwavidyalaya had started with 60 students whose number has risen to 800 now. Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. K.K. Singh, Commissioner Mr. Umakant Umrao, vice chancellors of various universities and council members attended the meeting.
