All India Bonsai summit gets underway
Bhopal, October 3, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa inaugurated 3-day All-India Bonsai Summit and exhibition to mark silver jubilee of Bonsai Club, Bhopal here today. Mr. de Sa said that bonsai tree symbolises patience, balance, beauty and affection. Bonsai is neither completely artificial nor fully natural. This balance comes from bonsai art. He said that bonsai tree is regarded as important in Japan as Sadhana of Yoga in India. This is the result of years of love, patience and practice. Due to it, there is a tradition to give bonsai tree as inheritance. The Chief Secretary said that this event will give fillip to bonsai activities in the state. Mr. de Sa also released Bonsai Club, Bhopal’s souvenir “Manjari” and bonsai photo album.
Bonsai Club’s President Dr. Mamta Mishra said that the club is making constant efforts to expand the art of decorating small places with nature. Bonsai Club also urged the state government to assist in development of bonsai garden at Bhopal. Club’s Founder President Dr. Jyoti Pandya and expert from Indonesia Mr. Budy Suliastiyo also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Mamta Mishra informed that the programme will continue till October 4 at Hotel Jehanuma Palace where national and international experts will share their experience with bonsai lovers and discuss the subject with them. Interactive workshop and display of bonsai art of participants will also be held. Bonsai materials and literature will be available for sale. Mrs. Mishra also felicitated 8 persons for outstanding works in bonsai field.
