CM to inaugurate on October 31
Bhopal, October 24, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): “Krishi Manthan” will be held on October 31 to enable and empower farmers to deal with natural calamities. Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate and remain present whole day in the programme. During the one-day “Krishi Manthan”, discussions will be held to chalk out a long-term strategy for farming. Experts will discuss ways to increase farmers’ income along with increase in growth rate and reduction in impact of natural calamities on them. Agriculture experts from all over the country have been invited to it. The one-day “Krishi Manthan” will be held at Academy of Administration. Chief Minister will express views on agriculture development in the state during last 10 years at “Krishi Manthan”. Principal secretary agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora will elaborate on situation of agriculture and its new dimensions.
Mr. P.K. Agrawal of CGIAR, New Delhi will speak on “Climate Smart Agriculture”, Director National Oilseed Research, Hyderabad Dr. Waradas on “Increase in Soybean Production and Future Alternatives”, Chief Scientist of IISS, Bhopal Dr. A.K. Vishwas on “Soil Health and Integrated Nutrient Management”, Dr. D.K. Rao of Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University on “Increasing Productivity in Pulses”, Dr. Guruvachan Singh of ICAR, New Delhi on “Horticulture, Agro-forestry and Alternative Farming System” and former Director of CIPMT, Ludhiana Dr. R.T. Patil and Dr. Gyanendra Singh of CIAE, Bhopal will speak on “Improving Farm Power, Post-Harvest Management” and “Food Processing”.
It is noteworthy that the state government is making all possible efforts to help farmers wriggle out of crisis by providing them compensation against loss to soybean crops due to natural calamites. The Chief Minister have been stressing the need to chalk out such schemes that farmers are not crisis-ridden even during calamities and are empowered and enabled to tide over such situations. “Krishi Manthan” is being held in this context.
