MP PTC to get council of power utility award

 

Bhopal, November 4, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited has been selected for 8th India Power Awards 2015 of Council of Power Utility. The award would be given for 400 KV Satpura Ashta Public Private Partnership UPPP Transmission Project. Company’s Managing Director and Director Technical will receive the award on behalf of the company in New Delhi on November 6. It is noteworthy that 400 KV Satpura Ashta Public Private Partnership UPPP Transmission Project is second of its kind project in the country. It is based on Planning Commission model. Before it, a project on this model was implemented in Haryana. The 400 KV Satpura Ashta Public Private Partnership UPPP Transmission Project selected for Remarkable Products Awards 2015 has been implemented to transmit power generated by new units of 250 MW each of Satpura thermal power station, Sarni. This double-circuit 400 KV project measured 240 km.

The project was considered as complicated due to passage from high tension lines through forest area, rivers, railway crossings etc. But it was completed in just 16 months.  It may be mentioned that while completing this project, its lines passed through 22.8 km long forest area, 3 railway crossings, 26 high tension transmission lines and one river. Speciality of the project is its completion within prescribed time-limit. The project started functioning from April 7 this year. The project was constructed by Messrs Kalpataru under Public Private Partnership UPPP Project.
