2-day national symposium on climate change inaugurated

lead22.11.15Bhopal, November 22, 2015 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that human beings’ greed is responsible for environmental imbalance. He said that society should ponder over environmental balance and conservation and get associated with it. Manners to give respect to nature must be revived. Mr. Chouhan was addressing inaugural session of 2-day national symposium on ‘Global War ming and Climate Change – Towards Solution’ at Vidhan Sabha conference hall here today.Chief Guest spiritual guru Shri Shri Ravi Shankar Ji said that there should be intolerance towards environmental pollution, injustice and improbity.

He said that intolerance should be displayed at right place. The symposium is being organized jointly by EPCO, Narmada Samagra, Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad and Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants Society (CECOEDECON) in the context of Simhastha-2016. The Chief Minister said that awareness towards environment problems like climate change and global warming already exists in India. The country has tradition to worship nature and respect rivers as mothers. Trees, plants, animals and birds are given respect. He said that only approach and view point towards environment has to be changed.

Mr. Chouhan said that conclusions of this symposium in the context of Simhastha-2016 would be released as ‘Simhastha Declaration’ on May, 12, 13 and 14, 2016 during Simhastha at Ujjain. This would be message of India for entire world. Shri Shri Ravi Shankar said that water and love cannot be purchased. Water should be seen with sight of love. Approach changes with change in point of view. He said that India has always been concerned about environment. In recent years, human beings have started behaving like animals.

This attitude should be changed. He hoped that this churning will lead to welfare. Shri Guru Ji said that environmental balance has been damaged by human attitude. He said that safeguarding of environment is not enough, but it should be conserved religiously. He said that environment would not be safe till there is public cry against damage to environment. For this, training is also necessary. We should give a clarion call for this jointly.
