Mr. Bhupendra Singh reviews Simhastha works

Bhopal, December 4, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):   Minister of Transport and In-charge Minister Mr. Bhupendra Singh has directed State Road Development Corporation to beautify entire length of 4-lane Indore-Ujjain road. Similarly, directives were also given to increase greenery by planting saplings on both sides of Ujjain-Maksi road. He also directed to widen Agar-Ujjain road and repair railing of bridge on Kshipra river on Indore road. Minister Mr. Singh was reviewing works pertaining to Simhastha at Ujjain on Wednesday. Culture Department has been asked to give space to local artistes in programmes to be held during Simhastha. The Minister also reviewed works being undertaken by Western Region Power Distribution Company, Zila Panchayat, Ujjain Development Authority, Forest, Tourism, Culture and Public Relations departments. Energy Department informed that 31 out of 44 sanctioned works have been completed and 8 are in progress.   Forest Department has stored adequate quantity of firewood, bamboos and Ballis in Mela area. The state government has sanctioned Rs. 3 crore subsidy on firewood. The department will provide Dharm Dhwajas to all Akhadas free of cost.

Required 52 feet high Ballis of eucalyptus will be allotted to Akhadas by December 15. The departments has planted 61 thousand saplings on Panchkroshi Marg, which are thriving. During Mela, 3 rescue teams will be deployed for wildlife rescue operations, veterinary check-up of animals and deal with menace of monkeys. Chief Medical Officer informed that total 1700 beds will be available during Mela period. Four zones will have 20-bed hospitals each and 16 zone 6-bed hospitals each.

Public Relations Department is constructing 2 large media centres and 16 sub-media centres for coverage of Mela. Facility of high-speed internet and modern facilities to send news will be provided at these media centres. Chairman of Simhastha Central Committee Mr. Makhan Singh said that officers should work efficiently. All works should be completed within time-limit. Works should be done with mutual coordination and there should be no negligence.
