Mr. Bhupendra Singh undertakes departmental review
Bhopal, December 10, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Transport Minister Mr. Bhupendra Singh has directed officers to ensure all arrangements for safe and smooth transport services for passengers. He directed this during departmental review here today. The meeting was informed that about Rs. 1300 crore has been released through various taxes by the department till date during year 2015-16. Minister Mr. Singh directed that along with channelisation of new routes in all districts and prescribing new time-table for passenger buses, pollution test centre should also be established as per requirement. He directed for alertness in revenue recoveries as per targets.
The Minister directed permission should not be given to sleeper buses to ply during day time. If any such permit has been issued then it should be rationalized as per rules. Officers suggested that GPS system must be made compulsory in commercial vehicles to ensure safe and smooth transport services to passengers. They also suggested about proper arrangements to send registration cards and driving licences to people, preparation of department’s manual and make necessary arrangements to accelerate pace of departmental works. Principal Secretary Transport Mr. S.N. Mishra, Transport Commissioner Mr. Shailendra Shrivastava, other senior departmental officers and District Transport Officers attended the meeting.
