IAS trainee officers meet SEC Mr. Parasuram
Bhopal, December 18, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): State Election Commission was established first of all in Madhya Pradesh in the country. This was informed by State Election Commissioner Mr. R. Parasuram to IAS trainee officers who met him here today. Mr. Parasuram informed about constitutional status and process of elections of urban bodies and panchayats. He informed that 50 percent reservation has been given to women in urban bodies. Provision to recall elected representatives has also been made.
So far, 33 representatives have been recalled. He also informed about multi-post-multi-vote EVMs, photo bearing electoral rolls and voter awareness programme. The Commissioner informed that 5293 participants have been imparted training for 371 hours. Deputy Secretary Mr. Deepak Saxena informed about functioning of EVMs. Secretary SEC Mrs. Sunita Tripathi and 11 IAS trainee officers were present on the occasion.
Mr. Parasuram said that all preparations for free and fair elections should be completed within time-limit. He directed to hold meeting of standing committee and set up helpdesk. IG Mr. Makrand Deoskar informed about force deployment. Commissioner sought information about poll preparation from district election officers of all 8 districts in one-to-one meetings. Secretary State Election Commission Mrs. Sunita Tripathi was also present on the occasion.
