Bhopal, January 8, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): So far, 50 thousand quintal firewood, 35 thousand teak rafters and 50 thousand bamboos have been made available by Forest Department for Simhastha-2016. The department has set up central depot at Nagjhiri in Ujjain forest division for supply of forest produce for Simhastha and temporary depots at Ujarkhera, Mangalnath, Dutt Akhada, Bherugarh (Peer Machhandar Nath) and premises of Chief Conservator of Forests Ujjain Circle. Forest Department has set a target to store 75 thousand quintal firewood, 50 thousand rafters (Ballis) and 75 thousand bamboos for Simhastha-2016.
As much as 6500 quintal firewood, 13 thousand rafters and 47 thousand bamboos would be stored at Nagjhiri depot, 27 thousand 500 quintals firewood each, 14 thousand rafters each and 9,500 bamboos each at Ujarkhera and Mangalnath depots, 7500 quintal firewood and 5 thousand rafters and bamboos each at Dutt Akhada, 4000 quintal firewood and 2 thousand rafters and bamboos each at Bherugarh depot and 2000 quintal firewood and 2 thousand rafters and bamboos each have been stored at depot on premises of Chief Conservator of Forests.
Forest Department sets up temporary depots to provide firewood and wood for pegging tents, barricading etc and supplies them as per demand. Firewood has been arranged from Dindori, Khandwa and Dewas districts. Of the total bamboos provided so far, 25 thousand have been collected from Ujjain district itself.
