Bansagar water to irrigate 40 villages in hilly area of Maihar

cmmaihar8.1.16Bhopal, January 8, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):   Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Bansagar’s water will be uplifted through pipe to irrigate 40 villages in hilly areas of Maihar. He directed to chalk out a project in this regard after survey. The Chief Minister stated this at village Ajmain in Maihar of Satna district today. Mr. Chouhan also held dialogue with people at village Bhaudha in Maihar tahasil. Public Relations Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla, Tribal Welfare Minister Mr. Gyan Singh and other public representatives were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that directives have been given regarding supply of water to hilly areas at a meeting last night. New project will cost Rs. 800 crore.

He said that if topographically possible, drinking water problem of every village will be solved through piped water supply scheme. For maximum availability of water, single-phase motors will be attached to handpumps. Single-phase motor will be attached to one handpump in every village. The Chief Minister said that women’s 33 percent reservation will be ensured in service in all other departments except Forest Department. Mr. Chouhan said that power sub-station will be established at Ajmain.

From next session, Ajmain’s high school will be upgraded to higher secondary school. Piped water scheme will be sanctioned for Ajmain. Overhead tank under drinking water scheme will be constructed after survey at village Mirgauti (Amarpatan). The Chief Minister said that Gaudaha and all other villages affected by submergence of Bansagar dam will be made Smart Villages. He announced to open high school at village Gaudaha from next session. The Chief Minister was accorded grand welcome at various places during Maihar visit.
