lead10.1.16Bhopal, January 10, 2016 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that effective law & order arrangements is pre-requisite of development. Addressing IPS probationers at his residence here today, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh Police is one of the best police forces in the country. Its has glorious traditions. Along with overcoming all hurdles in law & order, state’s police has also successfully curbed naxalism and eradicated dacoity menace. Mr. Chouhan said that police service is not just a job. It is path of devotion and service of people.

He exhorted probationers to protect law-abiding citizens and act tough with law-breakers. He said that state’s police’s novel initiative of community policing has met with success in districts. The Chief Minister exhorted the probationers to maintain dialogue with public representatives. They should study socio-economic and political situations and social fabric in their respective areas. They should interact with society to wean out criminals. They should be alert towards misuse of social media. Act tough with criminals.

Take action against first and then inform. Criminals are enemies of country and society. He said that elected representatives in democratic system have influence over society. Police officers should keep in live contact with them without any ego, respect them and seek their guidance. The Chief Minister said that commitment to duty and passion to serve are hallmarks of this public service. Officers should always function with positive frame of mind. This gives inner strength and boosts morale. He exhorted them to discharge their duties in the best manner. DGP Mr. Surendra Sinh, Special DG Vigilance Mr. Sarabjeet Singh and OSD to CM Mr. Rajeev Tandon were present on the occasion.
