CM to visit Singapore to promote foreign investment in state

To meet business delegations, address business seminar

To be conferred prestigious Lee Kwan Yew fellowship

Bhopal, January 11, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):   During his Singapore visit, Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will meet Singapore Prime Minister, Trade & Industries Minister, Defence & Foreign Minister and various delegations to promote investment in the state. He will also attend a business seminar. During the visit, Mr. Chouhan will be conferred prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship. The Chief Minister along with a high level delegation will visit Singapore from January 12 to 15. Mr. Chouhan will be accompanied by Industries Minister Mrs. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, senior state government officers and eminent industrialists. The delegation led by the Chief Minister will invite major Singaporean companies, industrial houses and trade organisations to Global Investors Summit to be held in the state in year 2016. On January 13, Mr. Chouhan will meet Chairman of Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship (LKYEF) Mr. Eddie Teo and Minister for Trade and Industry Mr. S. Iswaran. Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan will be conferred prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship at Singapore. Mr. Chouhan is 4th Indian to receive this fellowship. Earlier recipients include former Vice Chairman of Planning Commission Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, former Union Minister for Disinvestment Mr. Arun Shourie and Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Dr. Chandrababu Naidu. Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship was incepted in year 1991.

In selection of the fellowship, contribution to national development and efforts to promote international goodwill are considered. So far, 45 foreign dignitaries have been conferred this prestigious fellowship.  The same day, the Chief Minister will meet Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman. The Chief Minister will also meet ESM (Emeritus Senior Minister) Mr. Goh Chok Tong. He will meet Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong. Later, Mr. Chouhan along with delegation will participate in a public lecture at Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS).
