Powerful revolving cameras to be installed at 134 identified places
Bhopal, January 20, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Simhastha to be held in April-May this year will be child-friendly. Foolproof arrangements will be made to ensure children’s safety. Several arrangements are being made to prevent children from going missing. Apart from police arrangements, deployment of Shaurya Dals of Women & Child Development Department, childline police, NGOs and use of technology will also be made during Simhastha in this regard. These arrangements were inspected by member of National Child Rights Protection Commission Mr. Priyank Kanoongo at Ujjain on Monday. Central Simhastha Committee’s President Mr. Makhan Singh was also present on the occasion. Member of the Commission said that all agencies should work in tandem to ensure safety of children in view of huge number of devotees. For this, he also urged to chalk out an action plan. It was informed at the meeting that there would be 29 police checking points during Simhastha.
CC TV cameras will be installed at these points and roads. Police will set up 51 lost and found centres. Information about missing children will also be uploaded on website of police. This information will be relayed at all police stations. At Ujjain city, 134 places will have powerful cameras which can revolve on 360 degrees. Through these cameras, suspicious activities at relatively more distant areas can be registered.
Ullas Foundation’s representative has informed about tracing and bar-coding technology to prevent children from going missing. He informed that for this, electronic band will be tied to forearm of children, chip of which will contain entire information about children. This information will also be uploaded in software. The meeting was also informed about Nasik Kumbh. During this Simhashta, multi-lingual radio jockeys will present programmes on FM radio.
