CM takes meal with students at girls hostel mess
Bhopal, January 27, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with his wife, took meal at girls’ hostel of Excellence Education Institute Hostel, Biriyakheri in Ratlam district today. Chief Minister sought information about hostel arrangements. He elicited suggestions about increasing educational facilities. On appeal of student baby Arti Gamad, Chief Minister announced to increase capacity of the hostel from 50 to 100. The Chief Minister visited the hostel after taking part Republic Day function at Ratlam. Extending Republic Day greetings to students, the Chief Minister enquired about their studies. He sought information from class XII students whether Rs. 25 thousand cheques each are being provided to SC, ST students securing 75 percent marks to purchase laptops.
He asked whether they want cheques or laptops. The girl students replied in unison that they should be given laptops instead of amount. The Chief Minister said that the state government is also paying fee of SC and ST students studying in private medical and engineering colleges. Similarly, upto Rs. 15 lakh scholarship is also being given by the government for study in foreign countries. Girl students asked the Chief Minister interesting questions. In reply to the question as to how he became the Chief Minister, Mr. Chouhan said that he had never dreamt of it. He said that due to people’s affection he became MLA once and MP 5 times.
Later, he became Chief Minister on directives of the party. Class XII student Mamta demanded to increase subsidy under self-employment scheme given to rural girls from 20 percent to 50 percent. Student Payal Deora demanded that a separate section should be arranged to teach English in every school. The Chief Minister said that English is spoken everywhere and is world’s lingua franca. Therefore, not only English, but teachers will also be imparted training to increase efficiency to teach mathematics and science. Student Archana asked the Chief Minister, ‘How you do difficult works with ease?’; the Chief Minister said that ‘where there is will there is way’.
