CM Mr. Chouhan informs about action plan at Hanuwantiya
Bhopal, February 3, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Following meeting of the state cabinet at Hanuwantiya today, Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced multi-dimensional schemes in tourism sector. Accordingly, tourist centres will be developed in forest and revenue areas, wildlife tourism will be promoted in Madhya Pradesh, tourism potential will be explored in ravines, other places like Hanuwantiya will be developed for state’s marketing and branding, new facilities will be developed at World Heritage sites and new tourist circuits will be developed.
The Chief Minister said that all these works will be undertaken smoothly for tourism development. In this, Civil Aviation, Culture, Water Resources, Rural Development, Urban Development & Environment, Narmada Valley Development, Public Works, Transport and Forest departments will play significant role. The Chief Minister said that with development of Swiss Cottages at Hanuwantiya and other water tourism destinations, not only tourists will wish to visit them, but will also want to stay for a couple of days there to enjoy natural beauty.
The Chief Minister said that after agriculture, Tourism will not only bring awards and honour to the state at national level, but will also help in improving economic condition of tourist places. The Chief Minister said that more attention would be paid to increase employment sources through tourism. Rural tourism, another important aspect in state’s tourism will also be developed. The Chief Minister said that tourism at such places will be promoted to the maximum by holding fairs and festivals.
Nagar Palikas and Gram Panchayats in tourist areas will be connected to Swachchhata Abhiyan. Nagar Palikas and Gram Panchayats with outstanding performance will be felicitated. Midway Treats will be opened on every 50 kilometres where tourists can have snacks. Public facilities will also be available at these Treats. Mr. Chouhan said that Home Stay Scheme will also be chalked out. Through it, local people will be able to host tourists in their houses. This will increase income of local people. Under the scheme, investors of tourism and other sectors will be given opportunity. Old buildings will be given heritage look and developed as tourism spots. For this, process for online bids will be undertaken.
