Training in tourism to be imparted in ITIs
HE Minister Mr. Gupta directs
Bhopal, February 6, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): New colleges will be opened with science, commerce and arts subjects. Training regarding various aspects of tourism will be imparted in ITIs and polytechnic colleges. This was directed by Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta during review of various departmental schemes here today. Mr. Gupta said that in the 10 districts not having girls colleges, proposals for opening girls colleges with hostel and library should be chalked out. Information about government and private girls hostels should be provided to local police stations. He directed to increase daily travel allowance of girl students from Rs. 5 to Rs. 10. This allowance is given to go to college. In-charge Minister, MLA, other public representatives should be invited to career fairs at colleges.
The Minister directed to chalk out proposal to open National Law University at Jabalpur soon. It would be established on the lines of Bhopal’s Law University. The Minister directed to suspend Mr. P.S. Chaturvedi, principal of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial College, Sidhi for negligence in enquiry. He also directed to suspend assistant professor Mr. Avinash Chandra Shukla of Government College, Baidhan. Principal Mr. Tiwari had conducted enquiry against assistant professor Mr. Shukla.
The Minister directed to chalk out proposals to start new ITIs in 28 unserviced development blocks. He directed for early action to establish a global level ITI at Bhopal with capacity of 10 thousand students. Division level ITIs will be of national level. Mr. Gupta directed to inspect SDC. He said that along with ITI, residences of teachers-employees should also be constructed. Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. K.K. Singh, Secretary Technical Education Mr. Sanjay Singh and Commissioner Higher Education Mr. Umakant Umrao also attended the meeting.
