10-day first Jal-Mahotsav concludes at Hanuwantiya
Bhopal, February 22, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): The 10-day first Jal-Mahotsav concluded at Hanuwantiya this evening. Tourists from near and afar participated in Jal-Mahotsav amidst festive mood, fervour and enthusiasm and visited naturally formed islands in Narmada backwaters. Jal-Mahotsav organised by State Tourism Development Corporation succeeded in its objectives. During the period, tourists came face to face with islands in backwaters of Indira Sagar dam and almost uninhabited places, whereas Hanuwantiya tourist destination carved its identity. Tourists from far away places described the place as unique, highly beautiful, fascinating and tranquil’. Massive storage of azure water gives look of a very big water body. Tourists enjoyed bullock cart ride and enthusiastically participated in adventurous activities kite flying, parasailing and water scooting. Cultural programmes were also held daily during Jal-Mahotsav. Through them, rich cultural heritage of Nimar-Malwa region was enlivened. Tourists had sightseeing of Boriyamal island, about 15 kms from Hanuwantiya by motorboats and Jal Pari. They also sailed through Reva cruise. There was heavy rush of tourists there due to Sunday. Corporation’s Chairman Mr. Tapan Bhwomik, MD Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao and corporation’s team looked after arrangements till concluding day. The corporation has expressed gratitude to all concerned for success of Jal-Mahotsav.
