CS Mr. de Sa inaugurates MP young scientists congress
Bhopal, February 29, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Madhya Pradesh Council for Science and Technology organised 31st MP Young Scientists Congress during Science Festival here today. As many as 216 researchers selected from the state and scientists from universities, colleges and other scientific institutions including 122 females are taking part in the Congress. The 2-day Congress was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa here today. Chief Scientist of National Geophysical Research Institute Mr. G. Parthasarthi was also present on the occasion. Council’s DG Prof. Pramod K. Verma presided over the function.
CS Mr. de Sa said that science boosts development. Madhya Pradesh is its best example. Successes have been achieved with use of science in agriculture, power sectors, construction of roads, irrigation, storage capacity and several beneficiary oriented schemes. For this, Samagra Portal has proved to be very effective. Madhya Pradesh is far ahead of other states in use of information technology. Now, people have not to wander to obtain caste certificates. One crore students have been given its benefit.
Expressing happiness that 122 out of 216 participants are female. Chief Secretary said that he would apprise Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan of it. CS released council’s souvenir. An app was also launched. Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir informed about the app ‘Titli’ developed with Council’s cooperation. Following inauguration, research papers were presented in 17 parallel sessions. Research papers will also be read out in various technical sessions on the second day of the Congress February 29.
