Bhopal, March 6, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa has taken initiative to extend education loan to Ekta Kumre. Scheduled caste girl student Ekta wished to avail loan for higher education. State Bank of India’s branch on Nabibagh, Berasia Road, Bhopal was not sanctioning loan. The bank branch says that Ekta Kumre’s father Mr. Ashok Kumar Kumre, a class IV employee of the state government had taken loan in the past and was declared defaulter due to irregularity in payment of loan. Applicant informed that the loan case being made basis to deny her loan has been settled years ago with the bank and at present there is no loan payment due against her father and as such no dispute exists. Even then, the bank is not sanctioning loan to her due to which she is unable to pursue higher education. The Chief Secretary has written a letter to SBI, Bhopal’s GM Mr. P.H. Pammi to examine the case and sanction the case at the earliest if the girl student is eligible. He has also been asked to inform CS about action taken in this regard.
