Every single hailstorm affected field to be surveyed

Loan recovery to be suspended if crop loss is over 50 percent

lead17.3.16Bhopal, March 17, 2016 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that every single hailstorm affected field will be surveyed. He said that a joint team of Revenue, Rural Development and Agriculture departments will undertake survey of crops. List of survey will be displayed at Gram Panchayat building. He said that if anyone has objections to it, his field wil be surveyed again. Mr. Chouhan was addressing farmers at village Harpura in Jatara tahasil of Tikamgarh district today. It is noteworthy that hailstorm and unseasonal rains have caused considerable loss to crops in the district on March 13. Mr. Chouhan said that loan recovery from farmers with over 50 percent crop loss will be suspended. Their loans will be converted to medium-term. He said that loans at zero percent interest rate will be given to purchase seeds and fertilizers to farmers for next year’s Kharif crop. The farmers whose over 100 percent crops have been affected will be provided wheat, rice and salt at Re. one per kg till next crop.

Relief as per rules will also be provided against loss of roof tiles and livestock. Mr. Chouhan said that Bundelkhand is suffering double tragedy due to scanty rainfall. He said that arrangements will be made at any cost to ensure that everyone gets drinking water. He said that water will be lifted from best water source in Gram Panchayat to supply drinking water to villages. He said that water will be transported if a village does not have any water source.  Mr. Chouhan said that he is always with farmers in every crisis and urged them not to lose heart. He said that united efforts will be made to tide over this crisis.

He said that the second installment of drought relief will be distributed to farmers soon. He said that no farmer will remain deprived of relief. Earlier, the Chief Minister inspected affected crops and held discussions with farmers. Bundelkhand Development Authority’s Chairman Mr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, Zila Panchayat President Mr. Parwatlal Ahirwar, former Minister of State Mr. Harishankar Khatik, MLAs Mr. Dinesh Ahirwar, Mr. Anil Jain, Mr. Prabhat Singh, Zila Panchayat member Mr. Chhatrapal Singh, public representatives, collector and villagers were present on the occasion.
