Agriculture Minister Mr. Bisen describes as unique initiative
Bhopal, April 15, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi dedicated Pandit Laxminarayan Sharma Krishi Mandi Samiti, Karond at Bhopal as e-Mandi. From Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi today, the Prime Minister connected 21 Mandis of the country with online platform as pilot. At the function for dedication of Karond Mandi as the first e-Mandi of the state, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Mr. Gaurishankar Bisen said that this novel initiative of Prime Minister Mr. Modi will not only connect entire country’s farmers, traders and consumers with each other, but will also greatly protect their interests.
Mr. Bisen said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to give consent to declare 50 Mandis as e-Mandis as per the Prime Minister’s concept. Of these, Bhopal’s Mandi is being made online. This scheme of National Agriculture Market (NAM) will bring radical change in farmers’ lives. This will also fulfill Prime Minister’s resolve to double farmers’ income by year 2022.
He congratulated the Prime Minister for this historic launch. Earlier’ while dedicating entry gate of the Mandi, Mr. Bisen announced to name it after Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. He also inaugurated computer room constructed as per norms of National Agriculture Market. MLA Mr. Vishwas Sarang, Mandi Chairperson Mrs. Shyama Bhagirath Patidar, Principal Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Dr. Rajesh Rajora and Mandi Board’s Director Mr. Arun Pandey were also present on the occasion.
