LED bulb schemes implementation in state from today

CM Mr. Chouhan and Union MoS for Energy Mr. Goyal to inaugurate

Bhopal, April 30, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Energy Mr. Piyush Goyal will inaugurate LED Bulb Ujala Yojana at 11 am here on April 30. Energy Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla will preside over the function. Home Minister Mr. Babulal Gaur, Bhopal district’s in-charge Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargava, Higher Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta will be guests of honour at the function. MP Mr. Alok Sanjar, Mayor Mr. Alok Sharma, MLAs Arif Aqeel, Vishwas Sarang, Rameshwar Sharma, Surendranath Singh and Vishnu Khatri will also be present on the occasion. Under the schemes, 3 crore LED bulbs of 9 watt and 100 lumins will be provided to common people at Rs. 85 per bulb. The LED bulbs will carry 3-year replacement warranty. Each bulb’s life is 30 thousand hours. LED bulbs give light equal to a 100-watt bulb. It would save 91 percent energy. Common people will be supplied these bulbs through private alternate energy shops, haat-bazars, post offices and electricity bill centres of power distribution companies. After distribution of 3 crore LED bulbs, 75 to 90 MW power costing Rs. 450 crore to Rs. 540 crore will be saved annually. Use of LED bulbs will also reduce emission of carbon dioxide (Co2) by 31.75 lakh tonnes.
