Scheme to develop wayside amenities centres on lines of Dodi
Bhopal, May 22, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation will hold road shows to attract investors towards tourism sector in the state. The process will begin from Bhopal on May 30. In June-July, road shows will also be held at Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Jhansi. Through road shows, investors will be apprised of state government’s tourism policy, available land, heritage tourism and wayside amenities. This was stated by Secretary to CM and MD of State Tourism Development Corporation Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao during a review meeting with corporation’s Regional Officers and Managers through video-conferencing here. Mr. Rao informed that on the lines of Midway Treat Dodi, wayside amenities centres will be set up after every 40 to 50 kilometres for tourists’ convenience. Mr. Rao informed that registration of applicants for ambitious ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ programme has begun. Under the programme, trainees are given certificates and initiative is taken to provide jobs or bank loans to them for self-employment. He directed to prepare database report of training in coordination with newly constituted Micro-Small Industries Department of the state government.
He said that every training programme’s portal should be developed and entire information regarding it should be displayed on the portal, ensure action on the feedback received through tripadvisor.com from guests staying in corporation’s hotels and resorts and apprise concerning officers, use ‘resort management system’ and ensure compliance of ‘operational manual’ published by the corporation recently. During video-conferencing, performance of various units of the corporation was also reviewed. Corporation’s Additional MD Miss Tanvi Sundariyal, Deputy Secretary Tourism Mrs. Bhavna Valimbe, Executive Director Mr. O.V. Choudhary and other officers of the corporation attended the video-conferencing.
