Bhopal, May 31, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan discussed ways to make Mukhyamantri Grameen Aawas Yojana more effective at Mantralaya here today. He stressed the need to make changes in this scheme in the context of Pradhan Mantri Grameen Aawas Yojana. He said that 5 lakh houses need to be constructed to provide houses to all the poor by year 2022. The meeting was informed that so far 4 lakh 33 houses have been constructed since year 2011. Rate of achievement for construction of rural houses was 82 percent in year 2011, which has increased to 155 percent now. It is most remarkable that beneficiaries are repaying loans within time-limit. The Chief Minister directed that arrangements should be made that beneficiaries face no problem in getting loans from banks. List of beneficiaries should be read out a Gram Sabha meeting. Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargava, Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa and senior officers attended the meeting.
