Bare Foot Track to be developed at Parsuli

Bhopal, June 5, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): A plan has been chalked out to introduce houseboat in major water sports centre Hanuwantiya. Houseboat will be made available between Tawa and Madhai. Efforts are also afoot to promote water sports at Bansagar and Omkareshwar. A 4 km long Bare Foot Track will be developed at Parsuli in Sidhi district. Country’s only aqua ski centre will be set up at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Survey has been conducted to introduce mini cruise from Barwani to Sardar Sarovar. Through it Madhya Pradesh is proposed to be linked to Gujarat with water base. Jal-Mahotsav will be held at Hanuwantiya this year also. This was informed at a review meeting of State Tourism Development Corporation chaired by Chairman Mr. Tapan Bhowmik here today. Mr. Bhowmik said that targets of works should be set. He said that corporation’s progress journey has been laudable. Ensure further glory and popularity of corporation in future also through team work, he added. Secretary to CM and MD of the corporation Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao, Additional MD Miss Tanvi Sundariyal and other officers informed about corporation’s activities. It was informed that along with construction of a Rs. 50 crore hotel at Indore, the corporation will also expand its hotels at Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior.
During recent years, the corporation has constructed 15 new hotels including Dodi, 110 new rooms in hotels and renovated 73 rooms. Khajuraho has been selected as venue of BRICS countries’ conference. Along with India, tourism-related representatives from Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa will take part in this important conference. Conference will be held from August 31 to September 1. It was informed that on the lines of highway-treat Dodi, an ambitious scheme is being launched to construct way side amenities on about 300 roads in the state. As per a well planned strategy, these centres will be established on every 40 to 50 kilometers. So far, construction of 46 centres is nearing completion and 15 other centres are under construction.
