SAPNA SHARMA, FIRST WOMAN TO COMMAND AIR FORCE PASSING OUT CEREMONY

 

Bangalore: For the first time in the 57 year history of Air Force,  passing out parade was commanded by a woman Flying Officer Sapna Sharma. She commanded 118 new flying officers. They included 45 women officers. Flying Officer Sapna Sharma expressed over the achievement and gave its credit to her parents.

Sapna belongs to and had schooling as Mansa town of Bathinda in Punjab Mansa, engineering. She underwent primary studies at Gandhi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mansa and engineering from  Jijessiiti, Bathinda,

She spent 6 months of training and one year training in Hyderabad (engineering course) of the Air Force Institute of Bangalore.”

Sapna’s father Naresh Sharma’s runs a clothing store in Mansa. He has five daughters. Spana is second. Mother Veena Sharma said, “We are proud of our daughter.”
