The Indian Embassy in Tripoli, Libya’s capital, has secured the release of Regi Joseph, an IT engineer from Koorachunda in Kozhikode district. He was abducted in Libya on March 31 last.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday confirmed his release in a series of tweets.
“Indian Embassy in Libya has secured the release of Regi Joseph – an Indian national from Kerala. He was abducted in March this year,” she tweeted.
In another tweet, she expressed her gratitude to India’s Ambassdor to Libya Azar A.H.Khan for his efforts in securing the release of Mr. Regi.
“This has been possible with the efforts of Mr.Azar A.H.Khan our Ambassdor in Libya,” she said in another tweet.
