Grading of every anganwadi will be done now. Grading would be undertaken on the basis of sanitation in anganwadi centres and better discharge of duties by workers, assistants, CDOPs and District Project Officers. This was stated by Women & Child Development Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis while launching ‘Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan’ at Bhim Nagar-based anganwadi centre here today. Smt. Chitnis asked a small girl of the same anganwadi to inaugurated the campaign by lighting a lamp.

  • Buildings of 12 thousand anganwadis sanctioned.

  • Every anganwadi in state to be energised.

  • Achal Kaksh to be set in entire MP by August 15.

  • No compromise with quality of nutritious diet.

  • Irregularities will not be spared.

  • Remove malnutrition remaining close to nature.

  • Make state malnutrition-free by associating with ‘Sneh Sarokar’

The Minister said that under this campaign, benefits will extended to children and lactating mothers who have been unserved so far. Smt. Chitnis said that anganwadi centre is not be mere a centre of distributing nutritious diet, but lactating mothers will also get information here regarding prescribed vaccines and benefit of primary education to 3 to 6 years age group children due to which they will develop habit of attending school regularly.

Minister Smt. Chitnis said that there is only the word ‘Poshan’ in the lexicon of Indian culture. Kuposhan and Suposhan are the words coined by us. It we adopt traditional methods then there would be no need of prefixes and suffixes of ‘Ku’ and ‘Su’ with Poshan. ‘Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan’ is being implemented to root out malnutrition. Smt. Chitnis said that the department would launch nutrition training soon. Besides, ‘Panchwati Se Poshan Abhiyan’ would also be implemented on a large scale.

The Minister also inspected Bhim Nagar anganwadi’s arrangements. She talked to children squatting on ground and offered biscuits and chocolates to them.

On the occasion, Smt. Chitnis also released magazine ‘Aao Yoga Karen Ham’.
