Starcast of the upcoming Bollywood flick Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara was in Chandigarh for promotion of their film and while interacting with the media, the actresses told us an aap beeti and got us stunned! “Yes, casting couch exists and it has happened with me as well,” said Niyati Joshi, who will be seen playing Pooja, opposite the Chandigarh hunk Sahil Anand. Sahil plays a struggling musician and is commitment phobic. He plays Tony in the film and is seen as a womaniser.
The other actress, who without taking a second, confirmed that casting couch exists is Divya Choksey. She said, “It exists but it depends entirely on oneself to get into the trap.”
Niyati Joshi and Divya Choksey debut with this film; they echo, “We try to bring in love, which is fast becoming a lost commodity.” Feeling fortunate to have bagged the film with a banner like Joy Mukerjee, the girls don’t deny the presence of casting couch. “I faced it first-hand with a very renowned director; as he came about it in ‘go-around’ manner. I was point blank that though I respect him for his craft I am not too desperate to compromise just to land a film.” “Casting couch is not just there in the film industry, but in every field and it’s up to an individual to get into it or not,” chips in Divya.
Made under Joy Mukerjee’s banner, the film directed by Monjoy, has an ensemble cast and has been largely shot in Kashmir. The young crew made a brief stop-over at The Tribune on Tuesday and shared their awarapan.
