Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan to unfurl national flag
Bhopal, July 30, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Preparations for Independence Day celebrations in the state have begun. Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa reviewed preparations for Independence Day functions to be held in the state capital and in other districts of the state. He also discussed in detail about the programmes to be organized by different state government departments. It was informed that the main function would be held at Motilal Nehru Stadium, Bhopal , at 9 AM. The Chief Secretary directed higher officers to be present at the function. Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will unfurl the National Flag, take salute of joint parade and address the people of the state. Freedom fighters, family members of those martyrs who have laid their lives during Kargil war and MISA detainees will be invited at the function. The meeting was informed that a Cultural programme, conducted by the Cultural department, will be held in the evening in the premises of Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal which will be attended by VVIPs and distinguished citizens. Besides, the national flag will also be hoisted at all the important government buildings and Independence Day function will be held in all the educational institutions at 8 AM or prior to it.
The meeting was informed that apart from state capital Bhopal, Independence Day functions will also be held at district, development block and village levels. In the state capital, National Flag will be unfurled at all government offices in the morning and selected government buildings will be illuminated in the night. The Director General of Police Mr. Rishi Kumar Shukla, Principal Secretary, GAD, Mr. MK Varshaney and other Principal Secretaries and Secretaries were present in the meeting.
