The triple murder has sent panic waves across the city and is being considered as further signs of deteriorating law and order.
The three people have been identified as Chandrashekhar Gupta (52), his wife Poonam Gupta (50) and Riya, a young woman in her 30s. Whereas the married couple were strangulated, the young woman’s body bore multiple marks of some sharp edged weapon.
A courier boy witnessed the scene and informed the police. Upon receiving information, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Lakshmi Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jorwinder Gord reached the spot with other police officials. The police have taken the corpses for post-mortem.
