Infrastructure development in rural areas is government’s priority

cm6.8.16Bhopal, August 6, 2016 (Muslim Saleem):   The Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that development of infrastructure in the rural areas is in the priority list of the government. He also directed the officials to complete the development works within the stipulated time limit. CM Mr. Chouhan was addressing the villagers of Kanadi Khurd in Shahdol district under the Jan Darshan programme. Mr. Chouhan further mentioned that no stone will be left unturned for the development of Byohari area. He added that a scheme worth Rs. 129 crore 64 lakh has been approved to stop water of Son river in order to provide drinking water to 61 villages. Also, a sum of Rs. 28 crore has been approved to provide water to 53 villages from the Bansagar Project. Mr. Chouhan moreover announced and sanctioned Rs. 20 crore each for Byohari and Khaand nagar panchayat for the construction of houses for poor. Mr. Chouhan said that a college will be established in Gohparu in Shahdol in the next academic session and pension in cash will be distributed in presence of 5 panchayat members keeping in view the delay caused by the post office and banks to the pension beneficiaries.

While addressing the villagers, Mr. Chouhan said that an intake well will be constructed on Son River to provide drinking water through pipeline to the houses of the villagers of 25 villages of Gohparu Tahsil. An amount of Rs. 40 crore will be spent on this project. Also, special attention has been given by the government to enhance the irrigation area during the last few years. And an irrigation scheme worth Rs.28 crore has been approved to irrigate 2.5 lakh acre areas.  The Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan during his address informed that a bus stand will be constructed in Khannodhi gram panchayat in order to provide facilities to the passengers. The Minister Incharge, Mr. Rajendra Shukla also addressed the gathering. Mr. Narendra Maravi the chairperson of ST commission and MLA Mrs. Pramila Singh were also present on the occasion.
