Brijpal Tevatia’s convoy was fired upon more than 100 times in Ghaziabad by miscreants. While he and his driver are critical, four others were also injured.

BJP leader Brijpal Tevatia, who was shot at on Thursday evening in Ghaziabad, was operated upon by the doctors for over 3 hours.

The doctors at Fortis hospital said that due to a lot of blood loss, the operation got extended to such a long time. He is currently in teh ICU.

On Thursday evening, unidentified miscreants fired more than 100 rounds at the BJP senior leader’s convoy.

While Tevatia and his driver are critical and admitted in a hospital, four others, who were traveling with him are also injured.

Tevatia was in his Scorpio when two Fortuner cars encircled his car and started firing.

The assailants ran from the spot and later left their cars at Modi Nagar. They then ran away from there as well.

Tevatia and others were rushed to a nearby hospital. Tevatia and his gunner driver was then referred to Fortis Hospital due to the grave injuries.

Sources say that Tevatia and his convoy were returning and were on in Moradpur when the incident happened.

The police has sealed the area and has launched a coming operation.

Sources say that the assailants had pre- planned the attack.

Daljeet Singh, Additional Director General of Police, said this case seems to be of personal enmity.

“We have recovered one AK 47 and two 9 mm pistol and one rifle from their car,” he said.

The police said the assailants were well-prepared and used modern guns.

SSP Ghaziabad, while talking to the media today morning, said that two names have come up.

The police is investigating every angle and have taken two persons in custody for questioning.
