Mr. Rajnath Singh in lecture on Dr. Lohia in ITM university
Bhopal, August 28, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Dr. Rammanohar Lohia’s socialist ideology is based on Indian cultural values. He gave philosophical views to political thoughts. In the 20th century, Dr. Lohia emerged as personality, who presented politics as national as policy of India. Union Minister for Home Affairs Mr. Rajnath Singh expressed the views in Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Memorial Lecture – 2016 on ITM University in Gwalior. Union minister for panchayat, rural development, Dr.inking water and cleanliness Mr. NarenDr.a Singh Tomar, State Minister for Higher Education Mr. Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, Minister for Urban Development and Housing Mrs. Maya Singh, Chancellor of ITM University Mr. Ramashankar Singh, vice-chancellor Prof K.K. Dwivedi, MD of the University Mr. Daulat Singh Chouhan were present. Mr. Rajnath Singh said that like Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Rammanohar Lohia favoured cleanliness. He used to say that the rivers are lines of destiny for India and launched a social movement for cleanliness of rivers. On his thought the present union government has launched ‘Namami Gange’ campaign to clean the Ganga river. The aim is to make the river completely clean by the year 2022. The government will make all round efforts to clean other rivers also. The Home Minister said Dr. Lohia strongly believed that original thoughts can be developed only in our own language and that’s why he strongly advocated the development of Indian languages. The Union Minister said that Dr. Lohia did not follow the power of the God. Despite, his ideology was excellent. He always respects religious sentiments.
Dr. Lohia gave new interpretations on God Ram, Krishna and Shiva with deeper understanding and conveyed the society that they worked for country’s cultural and social unity. He said that in india, those who gave up richness are believed to be great persons. On the contrary, those who expanded their empire are known to be big king in foreign. Vice versa God Ram and Raja Harishachandra were considered the great persons in India. He also quoted contribution and greatness of emperor Harshwardhan, Sant Ravidas and Kabir. Dr. Lohia’s ideology endorsed this concept, he added. Member of Parliament Mr. Janardan Dwivedi said that Dr. Lohia interpreted politics and religion in his own way. He believed religion is long term politics and short term politics is religion. Dr. Lohia was said that the politics which stood on the test of the time, is become religion.
