Madhya Pradesh which has finished number one, fifth time in a row, in reporting highest numbers of crime against women and children in latest National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) report witnessed yet another atrocity on Wednesday as a minor girl was allegedly raped and dumped in the bushes by miscreant.

Some women passing through Pul Patra area heard the yells of a little girl behind the bushes. As they went ahead and inquired, a minor girl bearing injury marks was lying there. They picked up the girl and took her to a safer place.

Locals alleged that Dial 100 police helpline was called but cops did not arrive there for around one hour and also the 108 ambulance service was not available at the scene. With no help available in sight, the locals sent the girl to Hamidia hospital in an auto rickshaw.

CSP Bhartendu Sharma said that it was initially not clear whether the girl was sexually assaulted or has met with any accident. On contrary, a local in Pul Patra area claimed that the girl was raped by a pervert. The girl was being treated till reports last came in.

According to a recent NCRB report, MP has reported the highest number of rape cases in last one year (4,391), followed by Maharashtra (4,144) and Rajasthan (3,644). It stood second in the sexual offences list, putting up 12,887 cases as compared to Maharashtra’s 16,987.
