In yet another blow to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the MLA from Adarsh Nagar, Pawan Sharma was convicted by Rohini Court on Thursday and awarded 18 months in jail.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh. In 2009, a labourer was killed in a steel factory and a case was filed against Sharma in this connection. The AAP MLA was accused of carelessness which led to the death.
A Rohini Court announced its verdict in the case today and held Pawan Sharma guilty. Earlier, on Wednesday, AAP cabinet minister Sandeep Kumar was sacked by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal after his sex tape with two women surfaced.
Sandeep Kumar on Thursday said that the leaked sex tape is a conspiracy against him and he is facing the punishment for being a Dalit. Taking note of his allegation, party supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal released a video message on Facebook.
