Eighth Muslims citizens of Thane city near Mumbai in Maharashtra state of India have set an inspiring example of Hindu-Muslim unity and communal harmony. A Hindu citizen 65 years old Baman Kadam died in the city who had no family members except his wife. His relatives did not turn up even while being intimated. His wife could not perform the last rites.
Under these circumstances, Muslim youths living in the neighbourood decided to perform the last rites. They included Khalil Padne, Nawaz Dabeer, Shaban Khan, Maqsood Khan, Farooq Khan, Mohammad Qasim Shaikh and others.
The Muslim youths themselves purchased materials and prepared funeral pyre of late Baman Kadam. Next morning, the youths took out his funeral procession upto Shamshan (crematorium) and performed last rites of body of Hindu citizen with full Hindu religious rituals.
This story has gone viral of social media. Meanwhile MLA from Mumba Kalva Jitendra Chouhan has saluted these Muslim youths for their humanitarian act.
