W&CD minister Mrs. Archana Chitnis holds review meeting
Bhopal, September 28, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Minister for Woman and Child Development Mrs Archna Chitnis said that provision would be made to award villages for making malnutrition free. Aanganwari and Asha workers must initiate door-to-door campaign for improvement in condition of underweight children at Aanganwari level. Mrs Chitnis said that better coordination is needed at village level for better health indicators of pregnant women and children. She said proposal will be brought to the state government for providing combine incentive to departmental workers for improvement in condition of pregnant women at village or habitat level, on the place of unit based incentive. The Minister instructed to keep record of blood pressure and other records of pregnant women in aanganwari. Mrs Chitnis was reviewing Integrated Child Development Scheme. Mrs Chitnis said that schedule of Aanganwari is needed to be adjusted according to the working women for measuring weight of their children of three years age. Mrs Chitnis said that a joint drive will be launched taking support of health and school education department for improvement in anemic condition of teenage girls.
Instructions were given to complete construction of all sanctioned 19 thousand 951 Aanganwari buildings till September 2017. Minister Mrs Chitnis said that necessary reforms will be made in integrated child development project, at Aanganwari level to make it more accountable and result-oriented by reviewing execution. She instructed to form joint teams of women empowerment and ICDS department for coordinating supervision of programme execution in each district. Principal secretary woman and child development Mr. J.N. Kansotiya and commissioner integrated child development project Mrs. Pushpalata Singh and other department officials were present in the meeting.
