Governor Mr. O.P. Kohli at 9th convocation ceremony of RGPV
Bhopal, September 30, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Governor and Chancellor Mr. Om Prakash Kohli while addressing the 9th convocation ceremony of Rajeev Gandhi Prodhogiki Vishwavidhlaya has told students that do not leave traditions of the country while gaining modern knowledge, our country is linked with rich traditions. He further mentioned that India has unceasing capabilities to become developed country. Mr. Kohli giving example of Germany and Japan which became developed countries again after total destruction in the Second World War said that than why India cannot achieve leading position in the developed countries? Responsibility to bring honour, distinction to the country and to achieve leading position in the world lies on your shoulders. Governor Mr. Kohli said that you all were in secure environment till today, now you will go through real test how to use knowledge to counter challenges for society and the country. Our country has achieved the place of Vishwa Guru because of scientists like Aryabhatt, Charak and Dhanvantri who were born in this country. Moreover, Mr. Kohli said that students who have passed out should use knowledge with utmost dedication for the development and progress of the society and the country. He reiterated that responsibility to achieve leading position for the country lies on the shoulders of the students.
Minister of State Technical Education, Mr. Deepak Joshi said that Defense Institution will be established soon in the state. City will be selected for establishment of defense institution. Mr. Joshi further said that students should contribute whole heartedly towards Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s Yojna ‘ Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas’ and to cherish dream ‘ Swarnim Madhya Pradesh’ of Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Scientific advisor to the Union defense minister Mr. G. Satish Reddy said that our country has progressed enormously in the field of defense, science and technology in the last 32 years.
Our country stood on fourth position in the field of space technology. Mr. Reddy further mentioned that our country firmly believes in use of atomic technology and science for peace and human welfare. Moreover, there is a need to establish industries in the country. He urged the students to provide solution to the challenges of the country. Mr. Reddy said that New dimensions of development and production can be set in the entire country by the Prime Minister’s ‘ Make in India’ programme. He mentioned that our country has achieved self dependency in the field of science and technology due to electronics, computer science and ionformation and technology. Giving examples of missiles made by scientists he said that the scientists have achieved top position on the basis of domestic technology. He told the students to make such efforts that our country becomes one of the arms exporting country of the world.
