President Mr. Mukherjee dedicates houses built costing rs. 81 crore
Bhopal, October 4, 2016 (Muslim Saleem): President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee dedicated 1088 houses built costing Rs. 81 crore under the Awas Yojna (Houses for All) at Gwalior today. He mentioned that houses will be provided to around 3 crore 50 lakh house less people of the country till 2022. A campaign is being commenced by the state and the union government. He expressed the hope that the government will achieve the target within stipulated time. President Mr. Mukherjee as a token presented possession letter and keys of the houses to 6 beneficiaries. He further mentioned that there is a need to add education and health with the slogan of Roti, Kaoda and Makan. Governor Mr. O.P.Kohli, Union Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, State’s Minister for Urban Development Mrs. Maya Singh, Minister for Higher Education Mr. Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya and Mayor Mr. Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar besides public representatives, officers and beneficiaries were present in the programme. President Mr. Mukherjee while congratulating the citizens of Gwalior for linking Gwalior in the form of smart city said that Madhya Pradesh government under the leadership of Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan is making constant efforts for the welfare of poor and development of state.
He mentioned that during his parliamentary address in the year 2015, discussion about dreams of poor for having their own houses was held. And work was started by the democratically elected government of the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi after taking serious note of the issue. He congratulated the prime minister for this. An ambitious scheme “Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna” is prepared by the union government setting target to provide houses to around 3 crore 50 lakh house less people of the country till 2022.
Expressing concern on urbanization in the country, Mr. Mukherjee said that there is increase in the trend of urbanization whenever rural economy becomes weak. Mr. Mukherjee further mentioned that slogan of Roti, kapda and makan has become old now. Now education and health should be added to it. He said that India is a democratic country. Over 80 crore people had casted votes including youths in large number in 2014 general elections. Youths need facilities of education and health besides roti, kapda and makan.
Mr. Mukherjee congratulated for houses being constructed at Gwalior under I.H.S.P.D scheme and said that house are being constructed for poor of rural areas also. This government will fulfill its promise to provide houses to all till 2022. Governor Mr. O.P. Kohli said that many public welfare schemes and programmes are being run by the government in Madhya Pradesh, having rich culture, history and tourism. He congratulated beneficiaries receiving keys of their own house under IHSDP scheme and said that the need of developing such housing system has been felt for cities too because of the trend of migration to the cities.
