PR Minister Dr. Mishra distributes crop insurance claim’s certificates at Rewa
Bhopal, November 11, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs and Minister Incharge of Rewa District Dr. Narottam Mishra distributed Crop Insurance Claim’s certificates at district level Krishi Vigyan Mela at Rewa. Around 30 thousand farmers of the district were benefited with the crop insurance claim of Rs. 45 crore 847 lakh 9,945. Dr. Mishra said that today is the historic day when the farmers of the entire state are being benefited with the crop insurance claim against damage to their crops. He further mentioned that maximum number of farmers should get their crops insured to avail benefit of this scheme in future. Moreover, Dr. Mishra said that efforts are being made by the state government to make agriculture a profitable occupation. With the same objective, action plan been made for the next 5 years. Formation of Farmers’ Welfare Commission and Agriculture Cabinet are examples that how much the Chief Minister is concerned about the farmers. Also provision has been made by the Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan to present separate budget for agriculture in the state. Beside increase in agriculture growth rate, Madhya Pradesh has topped in the general growth rate.
Praising about the will power, hard work and obsession of farmers of the state, Dr. Mishra said that this is the result of the farmers’ welfare schemes and hard work of the farmers that the state was honoured with Krishi Karman Award continuously since last four years. He further mentioned that improvement has been registered in the socio-economic condition of the farmers of the Rewa district due to irrigation facility from the canals of Bansagar and it has also stopped people from deserting the area.
Work to provide irrigation water to other non irrigated land will be undertaken soon in order to provide irrigation facility on more land in the district. Minister Dr. Mishra inaugurated the exhibition and stalls related to agriculture equipments put up at the district level Krishi Vigyan Mela. Departmental Schemes and Programmes were exhibited by the Public Relations Department, Agriculture, Horticulture, M.P. Agro, other Departments and Banks in the exhibition.
