Union minister Mrs. Maneka Gandhi awarded them in New Delhi
Bhopal, December 23, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Four Aanganwari workers of Madhya Pradesh have been awarded with national awards for exceptional works. Union minister for Woman and Child Development Mrs. Maneka Gandhi presented the awards in New Delhi. Mrs. Vidya Sen from Khandwa and Mrs. Bhanumati Joggi from Anooppur district were awarded for the year 2014-15. Mrs. Anita Samuel of Hoshangabad and Mrs. Kashibai Vishwakarma of Katni district were awarded for best works in Aaganwari area for the year 2015-16. Rs 25,000 cash prize and certificate were given in the award. Minister of state for Woman and Child Development Mrs Krishna Raj was also present there. Mrs. Bhanumati Joggi of Anooppur district created awareness of health and nutrition related issues along with successfully delivering six services of ICDS. Also, she kept pace with programmes of health department. Mrs. Vidya Sen of Khandwa district created awareness regarding health and nutrition apart from delivering services of ICDS. Mrs Kashibai Vishwakarma of Katni district also created awareness on nutrition and health related issues besides ICDS services and kept pace with health department programmes. Mrs. Anita Samuel of Hoshangabad district created awareness of issues related with nutrition and health in addition to six services of ICDS and kept pace with health department programmes. The scheme to award Aaganwari workers at national and state level was introduced in 2000-01 by the union government. Since then, the awards are being presented to Aaganwari workers every year.
