Workshop on Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana

sadak11.1.17Bhopal, January 11, 2017 (Muslim Saleem):  Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Mr. Radheshyam Julania said that quality construction work should be carried out on the roads selected for the second phase under Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. Mr. Julania was addressing a workshop of officers of Government of India, Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority (MPRRDA) and Chhattisgarh state for selection of roads for the second phase and better execution under Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.  Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Julania said that the state is leading in quality of road construction and maintenance. The quality should be continued to be maintained. He said that target has been set for 5000 km road construction in the second phase of Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana by the Government of India, which is very less as per compared to the geographical area of the state. He underlined the need to increase the target.  Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Mrs Neelam Shami Rao presented progress report of Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. She said that 63 thousand 574 km roads have been constructed in Madhya Pradesh. Joint secretary of Government of India, Mr. Rajesh Bhushan appreciated execution of Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana in Madhya Pradesh and new technology used in it.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is leading in use of plastic waste, coal mix in road construction in the country. Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority engineer-in-chief Mr. MK Gupta said that road construction  in Madhya Pradesh under Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana is as per the technical parameters.  Chief General Manager of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority Dr. Pachori, National Rural Road Development Authority Director Dr. Pateria, divisional and district officials related with Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana were present in the workshop.
